monastery, retreat and dhamma talk in the future

although i like the thai forest tradition ( which is conservative )

thay are quite creative in many things

i m also a fan of google

after the realease of nexus 7 , the demo of google glass, the effectiveness of google hangout and hangout on air , i love to fantasize of a future where people from around the world could easily attend retreat and dhamma talk, Q &A in an organic way, establish connection with the monks without having to go the real monastery

i know.

there will be many problem with that ideas

like what ??

let ‘s brainstorming

- time is not synchronize (vietnam is lucky to be in the same time zone with thailand )

- anonymousity ( i think this can be easily solved ) - maybe not

- privacy of a monastery and monks ( this is dangerous - maybe  ) - I’m not a monk so i don’t know

- the conduct„ environment of retreatant may not be controlled

- online almsround ????? - impossible ( service like google wallet may be an alternative way?? )

- chanting is easy 

- discussion with other lay person is easy maybe

- it ‘s depend a lot on the gadget and network service ( if you turn your gadget on 18 h a day)that’s need a lot of advancedment of technology from now



addiction

i think somehow addiction is the way out when someone don’t want to directly face their situation

may be thay have so many unpleasant thought. may be their body are tired, maybe they are sleepy

at this time

full commitment to that one point for the length of an inhalation, and the length of exhalation

use the span of an inhalation and an exhalation

be patient

use the length of an exhalation and inhalation to limit the effort to just this length of time within which to sustain attention

when mind gone off ( unavoidable ), note how it feel like 

what it’s not & what not to do 

pranayama, controlling, getting some kind of power 

trying to do anapanasati for a set of time, say 15 minutes

use willpower

put in a lot of effort at first and then can’t sustain

purpose & result

mind concerntrate on breath ; eventually  become even, effortless, samadhi

the nature of this 

it’s feel hard cause  mind is train to use associative thought when anapanasati is concentrate on a   simple object

not a matter if you are not interest, put forth effort and use this natural function of the body 

to be experience by oneself

there will be discouragement come from not being able to get result that you want 

it’s a hindrance, so when the emotion appeare, be aware of it

note the feeling, recognise and let go and go back to the breath again ( repeat the process like surfing the wave )
